He Is the First and the Last

Image
God calls Himself in the book of Isaiah the “First and the Last,” a unique title reserved for Him that reveals some of His attributes. Jesus also calls Himself the first and the last while speaking to the apostle John as is written in the book of Revelation. This is a clear example among many others showing that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God and possesses all of His attributes; in the meaning of the phrase “the first and the last,” we see evidence that it points to the full deity of Christ as the everlasting Creator.    “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. ” –Isaiah 44:6  “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last …” –Revelation 1:10-11 “And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am t...

The Meek Savior: Our Servant King

Image
A study of the meek and loving nature of God, which is seen in Jesus Christ, and how the world is spiteful against Him without a cause  He’s Not What the World Expected “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.” (John 1:10) The Creator came down into His own creation to dwell among them, and they could not recognize Him. The likely expectation of the world of who the Son of God would be is a person who is boastful and self-exalting, one who thinks he should be treated as highly as he views himself. This person would be loud and having an outward glory to show for himself that he is something. They might think, If God were to come to us He surely would reveal Himself to be as lofty as He is and require that worship and recognition He deserves. But to the contrary, Jesus is meek and lowly in heart. Though He is surely worthy of all honor, so much that however much we honor Him is how much we honor the Father, He did not require or demand i...

God Loves Us As Himself

Image
Matthew 22:37-40  "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12   "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." When Christ commands us to love one another as ourselves, it means that He wants us to mind the souls and welfare of others as though they were indeed ourselves. To do something in their favor is to benefit yourself, not literally, but in the sense that you delight to benefit them because you see yourself in them. And you may do so even if it is at your own loss, because your loss is to you as gain if the other person has gained. It’s like a kind of oneness, although that more so applies amongst believers in Chri...

The True Gospel - Welcome

Image
Greetings! I'm Thalia, a believer and follower of the Son of God Jesus Christ.  It's All About Jesus The purpose for this site is first and foremost to glorify the Most High God by lifting up the truth of Jesus Christ and His word. I will contend for the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3), because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. By faith in Jesus we can have eternal life, which He defined for us:  "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. " (John 17:3) The most important thing in our lives is to KNOW the true God and Savior Jesus Christ, the one who made us and loves us, which we can do by reading His preserved word in the Bible.  His word is the only objective truth.  He has spoken to us most directly through His Son Jesus because everything He said came directly from the Father, and so we ought to give the most earnest attention to every word of His doctrine. The ...

Jesus Christ Is God

Image
Jesus Christ Is God Jesus Christ is the everlasting God, equal with the Father. This is not a comprehensive study but a reference guide of scriptures from the whole Bible that show Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God and equal to the Heavenly Father. He is distinct from Him as the Son, but yet they are one. And Jesus was not created. He is the eternal Creator, and in Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Let every word be established in the mouth of two or three witnesses. Prepare yourself to see the glory.   Note about Jesus NT verses about Christ OT verses about Christ Verses about God the Father Extra references He is the Creator John 1:3, 10; Col 1:16-19; Heb 1:2, 10 Isa 40:28, 42:5 43:15, 44:24 45:18 Rev 4:10-11 (*cross ref Col 1:16), Gen 1:1 (*cross ref John 1:1) He is the Word with God in the beginning John 1:1-2, 14; 1 John 1:1-2; Rev 19:13 Gen 1:1 He is the eternal God, and everlasting life 1 John 5:20 Isa 9:6 Isa 40:28, 57:15 1 John 1:2, 5:11; Heb 13:8 He is G...
